Latest Poll: Obama Bests McCain by 10 Points in PA

In an early look at potential general election Presidential match-ups in Pennsylvania, Barack Obama leads John McCain while McCain is in a toss-up with Hillary Clinton.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey shows Obama attracting 49% of the vote while McCain earns 39%. However, in a McCain-Clinton match-up, the Arizona Senator has a statistically insignificant two-point lead, 44% to 42%.

In Pennsylvania, Clinton leads McCain by six among women but trails by nine among men. Obama leads McCain among both men and women, but has a larger lead among women. McCain wins 69% of the conservative vote when matched against Clinton, 60% against Obama.

Inconsistent polls

Yet you look at the item below:

Something doen’t add up.

These polls were not far apart timewise.

“Clinton holds a 52 percent-36 percent lead over Obama in the survey, by Quinnipiac University. It is the first poll released since political observers began looking toward Pennsylvania’s April 22 primary as a potentially significant contest on the Democratic side.”

makes sense

The two polls aren’t measuring the same thing. the one is measuring how the two candidates do against each other. the other is measuring how the candidates do again John McCain. Two different measurements.

Same Comparison - Different results

“The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey shows Obama attracting 49% of the vote while McCain earns 39%. However, in a McCain-Clinton match-up, the Arizona Senator has a statistically insignificant two-point lead, 44% to 42%.”

Quinnipiac University Poll – “In prospective general election match-ups, Clinton leads probable GOP nominee John McCain among state voters — 46 percent to 40 percent. Obama and McCain are in a virtual dead-heat, the poll found.”

no more politics

The United States has been focused on international affairs, and has overlooked the domestic issues that are getting worse – mainly, the economy and community. Take away all the remarks people place on the candidates: gender, race, muslim, etc. If you ask a people which democratic candidate they want, one which ahs been in politics all her life and has the experience, or one that has been focused on community organization, well…. I have had enough politics in government. This country needs more community and less politics.
