FEC Finds Specter Campaign Mis-Reported Over $1 Million in Contributions

U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter’s 2004 reelection campaign misreported more than $1 million in contributions, failed to properly disclose hundreds of thousands of dollars in receipts from political party committees and political action committees and missed the final reporting deadline before the primary election, according to a Federal Election Commission audit.

The findings are laid out in a 15-page report that accuses the campaign of neglecting to follow many basic FEC requirements during the Pennsylvania Republican’s re-election race, first against fellow Republican Pat Toomey and then Democrat Joe Hoeffel. The senator spent more than $20 million during the campaign, and eked out a victory in the primary against Toomey before easily defeating Hoeffel in the general election.

oops?!

Who misreports $1 million in campaign contributions? Good lord that’s a lot of money!

LV

must be a PA Republican counting problem

Didn’t Gerlach (PA-06) “misreport” over $2 million and have to pay a hefty fine? Mis-report my ass. They’re just plain corrupt liars!

Specter

I think Specter’s about at the end of his rope. It’s time for a chenga in that seat.
