37 agencies have entered contracts, 81 have not.
The state Treasury Department says that a free, searchable online database for state contracts is up and running. An expansion of Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know Law that was signed in February by Gov. Ed Rendell required the creation of the database as a way to improve government transparency.

A small beginning
But those other agencies need to be punished/fined for every day that they do not comply. There are a lot of suspicious contracts missing right now.
A small improvement though as I found a possible-conflict-of-interest in a contract that has been posted. Not accusing anyone but it raised a question that I intend to ask.
Citizen journalists – we need to check up on this stuff.
A Good First Step
I tend to agree. Posting info involving state contracts online is a solid first step, but we have miles to go in “opening up” our notoriously insular state government. Kudos to the agencies that have complied so far, but why are the others dragging their feet?
Great Post!
