Former Senator Rick Santorum today endorsed Dan Meuser’s campaign to unseat Chris Carney. In a letter to Republican activists throughout the 10th Congressional District, Rick Santorum praised Dan Meuser’s conservative values and his leadership on conservative issues.
“Today, our party finds itself at a crossroads. We need to elect conservative leaders who can go to Washington D.C. and stand up for our values. We need leaders who will stand tall in the war against radical Islamists (sic), stand up for the rights of the unborn, fight to make tax relief a priority for our nation, cut wasteful spending, and protect our borders,” Senator Santorum said. “The people of the 10th District will have the opportunity to elect such a leader, and that is why I am proud to endorse Dan Meuser for Congress. “
Meuser said, “Senator Santorum is a national leader whose conservative policies I embrace and I am excited to have his leadership, vision, and passion on my team.”

I guess an endorsement from that “bum” will help in GOP primary but a “kiss of death” in the general election. This pompus ass and his idiotic beliefs were soundly regected by the voters of the great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Santorum endosring Meuser is huge. Santorum was very popular among Republicans and still has some pull. A strong conservative will always win the 10th. Santorum was rejected by the liberals in philly and Pittsburgh not in the 10th except for Luzerne and lackawanna, obth which only have a small part in the 10th. this is a huge endorsement for meuser

Yeah, Santorum’s endorsement is important during the primary in this conservative district. I think it’s a big blow to Hackett, but doesn’t really affect the general at all.

Santorum can’t stay out of the game. This endorsement is as much about Rick as it is Meuser. Rick wants to be wanted…and paid attention to….so he interjects himself into politics where he thinks it’ll raise his visibility.
But his word does carry weight with the evangelical, anti-abortion Right. To them, he’s not only a hero, but a martyr.

Santorum endorsed Meuser because he is a conservative and long time supporter of the Republican pary and its candidates.
This race is going to come down to Hackett and Meuser. They are the only two announced candidates that can run a credible campaign.
Santorum cannot support Hackett because he is wrong on key issues. For instance, he supported and in part paid for Vincente Fox’s visit to Wilkes University. Then, to make the illegal immigration protesters think he was with them, he attended the event as a protester. How does a guy pay for an event and then protest the event? Rick Santorum has stronger ethics than that. Hackett’s support of illegal immigration advocate Vincente Fox is wrong for PA and wrong for the country.
