Bernie O'Neill Joins List of Murphy Challengers

These days, it’s hard to keep tabs on who may be considering a run against freshman Rep. Patrick Murphy, Democrat from Bucks County. Well, here’s another name to add to the list: Bernie O’Neill. The state representative met with national party leaders in Washington earlier this year.

O’Neill, R-29th, has been in Harrisburg since 2003 and he gets added to a crew of nearly a half-dozen potential candidates. There’s Mike Fitzpatrick, of course, the former congressman who is thinking about a repeat run in 2008. There’s state Reps. Gene DiGirolamo, R-18th, and Scott Petri, R-178th. There’s New York University professor David Denoon. And then there’s Thomas Manion, father of the Iraq war veteran, Travis Manion, who was killed earlier this year.

Wow.
