Sam, please just drop out. Please.
“Far be it from me to speak ill of another Democrat but I’m very, very deeply disappointed,” she said, when asked whether she might “turn into another Chris Carney or Jason Altmire, both freshmen Democrats who have been supporting the reactionary Bush agenda since being elected last year.” (link)She continued: “There’s a motto, to paraphrase, that is very important to me — something we raised our children with: ‘If I am silent people think I agree.’ There are hard, hard fought battles — like a woman’s right to choose, and like the GBLT communities’ rights to have basic civil rights every other American is entitled to — that some of the votes that we have seen by the folks on our side of the aisle not only are disappointing in the immediate but upend many, many years of work by people who have dedicated and given their lives for these basic values. And when we get to the war in Iraq…very, very troubling.”
The comments weren’t appreciated by folks on Capitol Hill. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee got an angry phone call from congressional staffers, and that message was relayed to Bennett’s campaign. The advice: Don’t speak ill of fellow Dems if you want our help.

Wow. The hits just keep on coming with this woman
How long until the boys in DC start looking for a primary opponent for her? Or will they just right off the 15th and leave her to wallow in her own stupidity.
Write it off
They’ll write it off. In fact, I would be that they already have.
WHAT HELP?
The DCCC ignored Jason Altmire and left his campaign for dead and now he is a Congressman.
The DCCC ran someone against Carol Shea-Porter in the Democratic primary and now she is a Congresswoman.
Washington insiders do not vote in the Lehigh Valley and people from the Lehigh Valley do not want Washington isiders telling them what to do.
Americans everywhere, including the Lehigh Valley are disgusted with Congress. Democrats and Republicans alike are not doing there job and people are right to be fed up, regardless of party affiliation.
You're Right
You’re right, and I’ve said that for years. The Lehigh Valley is not a place that easily accepts the “Washington insider” crowd or way of thinking. But even with that in mind, Sam’s not the right candidate and she’s constantly stumbling on things that should be second nature to a good candidate.
The so-called "good" candidates....
are either too afraid of Charlie Dent or they are too busy drinking with Charlie Dent to run against him.
Eye on the ball....
Who cares about the DCCC!?!?
Charlie Dent is the slippery Washington insider that we don’t want telling us what to do in the Valley!
Sam is the only Democrat with the backbone to stand up to Charlie and run against. For that she should be respected.
Any one the 4 or 5 most prominent elected Democrats (and one particularly weak former judge) in the Valley could easily defeat Dent but they don’t have the guts to run.
Run, Sam Run!
KABOOM!
The Self Destruction of Sam Bennett is in full swing. So the money dries up, the DCCC runs a poll showing Cunningham as a winner against Dent, and Sam decides now is a good time to attack the more conservative Democratic Congressmembers fron PA as “Bushies.” The DCCC down in Beltway land is now irked at Sam, and has sent her a stern warning, stating their displeasure. To paraphrase Skynard, “OOOOH That Smell, the Smell that Surrounds Yoouuuu!
-Mas as Bats from the LV Poliblog
Is Cunningham running?...
...because last I checked he was too busy day (read PIPE) dreaming about being governor.
If Cunningham were running then what you posted would matter but since he isn’t you are just another backward Lehigh Valley idiot….....
you want Charlie Dent…......you got’em (despite a HUGE advantage in Dem registration).
Thanks for helping the party.
Signed,
Democrat from a part of the state where we actually win elections.
Gotta agree with those sentiments
From what I can see the LV is completely fractured. I hope the LV Democrats will get their act together. I know it took us in Beaver County awhile and several ignonimous defeats before we learned. And, while Jason Altmire isn’t the most liberal Dem in Congress, he’s not the most conservative either, although I don’t necessarily object to Sam Bennett calling him out.
pd
it is seemingly ok to
it is seemingly ok to attack her for her critique of the lack of party unity of these guys who vote with the repubs-by accusing her of a lack of party unity?????
Who did that?
I must have missed it – who attacked her lack of party unity? I attacked her lack of skill and experience.
