Businessman Dan Meuser, one of the two leading Republicans seeking to unseat Rep. Christopher Carney (D), announced late last week that he raised more than $400,000 in individual donations in the final three months of 2007. In a memo (why didn’t I get it?) to his supporters, Meuser also announced that he loaned his campaign an additional $250,000 and finished the year with $400,000 in cash on hand.Businessman Chris Hackett® ended December with about $386,800 in cash on hand, according to his spokesman Mark Harris, who declined to give any more figures. Both Republicans are wealthy and willing to fund their bids.
Meuser owns and operates Pride Mobility Products, a motorized wheelchair company, while Hackett owns a staffing solutions company — and had already tossed $100,000 of his own funds into his campaign as of the end of September.

Dan Meuser
I have known Dan and watched him motivate a small locally known company into a leader in the world of mobility products. He took employees and made them a TEAM. All of this seemed to happen overnight. Dan has changed more lives through that company than most people could ever dream of. I don’t live in that area, I was born close to there and moved, but if I did, I would have NO reservations about being a supporter of Dan. I think he has already shown the pride he has in his community, and the organization he can create. He knows what it is like to work hard, he did not always have a nice office, he was out hitting the bricks. And even after the company grew, Dan would always, always make sure he knew what people wanted, what worked and what didn’t and made the changes to fit the need, isn’t that the type of person you would want to represent you, someone who listens and tries to make things better for the people he represents. He doesn’t need a job, the money, the hours, or the travel…he sees things that need to be changed, and he certainly is the man that can ask the questions and fight for the solutions.
More PRIDE in his community that the name on his company.

where exactly does Dan live?
Keep Carney
The 10th District needs to keep Chris Carney. We need a representative of the people for a change. Too many years of republican representation from McDade and Sherwood and nothing to show for it. We can most certainly do without Meuser and Hackett. Two more out-of-touch rich guys pushing the Republican agenda. Look how well that turned out over the last eight years of Bush. Please…....
keep carney? ummm NO THANKS
WHy do we want Chris Carney?? SO we can roll back the tax breaks? Increase the tax on Social Security to 150K, increase the Capital Gains Tax to 20-30%. Bush’s tax cuts save me 5-10K each year in taxes. I am in the middle class. Why do the dems always want to take away from people who have invested in themselves and work hard for a living. I was willing to take risks. I paid for college, bought rental properties and started a business. Now after 10 years of hard work and taking risks I finally get to make some descent money 100-150k per year. Now CHris Carney and the liberal dems want to increase my taxes so they can pay for “Universal Healthcare”??? It is not my fault that there are irresponsible, lazy people in the world. I know people who drive brand new cars, have snowmobiles and new homes and no HEalth Insurance. THAT IS NOT MY FAULT. It is also not my fault that some people don’t choose to better themselves with education. If you decide on a blue collar job then you should be happy with blue collar pay. Don’t begrudge those that take risks, invest in themselves and make descent money. And don’t raise taxes on the people who decide to work hard and make more money.
No thanks?
Absolutlely, you made good for yourself-to hell with the rest. That’s the republican way. Everyone should get an education (if they can afford it or not)and start their own business. Of course they’ll have to do all their own labor now that everyone has their own business. I can’t say I understand the “I have an education and my own business, so I deserve the tax breaks” mentality. I’m all for capitalism, but when millionaires start playing fast and loose with the rules, nobody wins. Washington has allowed Corporate America and Wall Street to make all the rules. That has to change or that 150K income will be worth about $1.50. I’ll agree, Universal Healthcare is not the answer, but affordability and accessability is needed.
