When you are applying for a new job, most employers want to hear from your previous boss for a reference. Today, Bill Cahir got just that person to “put in a good word” for his candidacy to become the next congressman from the PA-05.
Senator Harris Wofford of Pennsylvania came to State College today to endorse Bill. A lot of Pennsylvanian’s remember Sen. Wofford as being one of the most influential figures in not only the civil rights movement, but in making universal health care the hallmark issue of his U.S. Senate election in 1991. Bill worked for Sen. Wofford as one of the staff who helped to draft the healthcare reform legislation.
As many of you remember, those big special interests in DC defeated that legislation and many are still without healthcare today and the number is only growing.
Bill is the only candidate, in either party, to work on federal health care legislation in this race and he the only one who understands how to take on all those “Harry and Louise” special interest groups and their inside-the-beltway money. With Bill’s experience and his Marine determination, I would expect that Sen. Wofford will be proud of his endorsement when Bill is in the Congress working to see the issue of health care reform actualized.
We encourage everyone to read Bill’s health care policy as it is the most comprehensive of any candidate in the race. The voters deserve more than just blurbs and talking points. They deserve a real plan of action.
