Commenter phillydem thinks one reason for Corbett’s incredibly stable unpopularity is the botched Sandusky investigation:
I’ll say it again, there are many Penn State alumni and Penn State affiliated voters who are going to vote for whoever Corbett’s opponent turns out to be. I’d willing to bet that a good many of those are conservatives and so they will not be “coming home” to Corbett at the
last minute. Add in the tax-aphobic voters who are going to be hit with a 10-cent/gal gas
tax increase come Jan and his numbers will really tank.
It’s too bad PPP isn’t trying to find out how much the Sandusky affair and ongoing governance problems at PSU are dragging Corbett down.
