Scott Bland at Hotline is impressed with Matt Cartwright’s impressive fundraising haul for his primary against Blue Dog Tim Holden:
Primary challenges against sitting members usually fail for lack of funds. Nobody’s penciling Democratic challenger Matt Cartwright into the winner’s column yet in Pennsylvania’s 17th District, but money is likely one problem he won’t have.
With what Cartwright has raised, plus a possible self-contribution, “we’d be at $600,000” for the quarter, said Cartwright campaign manager Shane Seaver. In a previous version of this story, Seaver told Hotline On Call that Cartwright had already raised nearly $600,000 without self-funding for his primary against Rep. Tim Holden in Pennsylvania’s 17th District.
